Apple’s new iPhone Duo
We talked about Apple’s first foldable iPhone and why I think the software could be what separates it from other foldables. The $1,999 phone opens up to a 7.6-inch screen, supports MagSafe and Apple Pencil, and is water and dust resistant. My big question is how apps like Instagram will adapt to the larger screen.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max
If you already have an iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max, I don’t think you need to upgrade. But if you create a lot of photos, video or audio with your phone and want the best iPhone for that, the 18 Pro lineup is the one to look at. The new colors include Glacier and Burgundy.
iOS 27 and the new Siri AI
The biggest upgrade in iOS 27 is the much smarter Siri. It can understand what’s on your screen, work with your personal information and handle more natural requests. For instance, if you’re looking at an event, you can ask Siri to add it to your calendar without copying and pasting anything.
Siri AI requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
Check the privacy settings on your smart TV
Whenever you buy a new gadget, spend a few minutes going through the privacy settings and turning off data-sharing features you don’t need.
We specifically talked about LG TVs. LG says its TVs do not continuously record or transmit conversations. I also explained Automatic Content Recognition, or ACR, which can identify what you’re watching and use that information for things like audience measurement and advertising. Check your TV settings and disable it if you don’t want it.

Shop around for home internet
If you haven’t compared internet providers recently, do it. Fiber, 5G home internet and Starlink have created much more competition, and you might find faster service or a lower price at your address.

You can also take what you find and call your existing provider. Simply telling them you have another option at your address may help you negotiate a better deal.
AirPods 5
The big upgrade with the new AirPods 5 is that Active Noise Cancellation is now included on the base $129 model. You still get the classic open-ear AirPods design without silicone tips.
There’s also a $149 version that adds wireless charging, longer battery life and volume controls on the stems.
