The best apps to track and discover streaming movies
With so many streaming services and so little time, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when trying to find something good to watch. Whether you want to keep track of your movie watchlist or discover new recommendations across Netflix, Hulu, Max, or others — these apps can help.
This iOS-only app makes it easy to discover trending movies and shows. You can create custom lists and quickly see where titles are streaming. One standout feature is its AI-powered search — perfect when you forget the name of a movie or want suggestions based on your mood.
Showly is packed with details like trailers, cast info, and links to reviews. While its streaming links aren’t always perfect, it excels at helping you find similar titles or explore the full filmography of your favorite actors.
Don’t let the name fool you — this app works across most streaming services. Google TV lets you build a universal watchlist and suggests content based on your history and trending titles. A big plus is the “Free” filter, which shows only content included with the services you already pay for. The only drawback? You can’t sort your watchlist.
This app is best if you’re deep in the Apple ecosystem. It’s sleek and works well for discovering where movies are available — with the big exception of Netflix, which doesn’t participate in Apple’s universal search.
Reelgood has a clean layout and supports just about every streaming service. It offers curated lists, trending picks, and powerful filters that let you narrow results based on what you actually subscribe to. Its rating system combines IMDb scores, critic reviews, and popularity trends.
While not the prettiest app, JustWatch is powerful. It shows a timeline of what’s coming to your subscriptions and lets you filter by rating, genre, or release year. There’s also a handy runtime filter — though it requires a paid upgrade.
A favorite among film buffs, Letterboxd is minimalist, social, and perfect for movie lovers. You can browse by genre, rating, release date, or streaming service. Follow friends, create lists, and even share movie posters to your Instagram stories.
