Hey there! It’s been a while… I know… but I’m trying something a bit different.
Since I get a whole bunch of questions sent my way each day... I'm going to try to answer them here and spread my knowledge!
Fair warning, these might start arriving daily, so if you don't like daily tech tips, just hit the unsubscribe button. No hard feelings.
My goal is to teach you something new on a regular basis.

Claudia asks via Instagram:
Can you please recommend an app to take pics of old pics to make digital files?
Sure thing!
My favorite is Photomyne. It works on both iOS and Android. Like a lot of apps, it works on the freemium plan. You can do a bunch of scans for free, but they will bug you to step up to a paid plan.
If you have a bunch of photos, it's well worth it.
Otherwise, I like PhotoScan by Google. It is also available for iOS and Android. It works well and is free for as many pictures as you want. It also works well with pictures that are already in frames. So, if you're at a relative's house, you can just digitize photos they might have on the wall. The only issue with PhotoScan is that it hasn't been updated in a while. But it still works.
Finally, if you don't feel like scanning in all your pictures with your phone, I recommend sending them away. The service I like and used for mine is ScanMyPhotos.com. I know, it's tough to think about putting your precious photos in the mail, but most of the time it's perfectly safe. If you live near their Irvine, CA offices, you can drop them off if that makes you feel better.
Ok, there you have it. A few ways to get those photos digitized! When you're finished, get them in the cloud for safekeeping!
Got a question for me? Send it to hello@richontech.tv and perhaps I'll answer it in a future email.
Have a great weekend.
