Check your Anker portable battery to see if it's recalled
If you own an Anker power bank, now’s the time to double-check your model number. Anker has issued two voluntary recalls - one earlier this month and another just this week—over potential safety risks linked to lithium-ion battery malfunctions.
The first recall involves PowerCore 10000 units (model A1263) sold between 2016 and 2022, which could pose a fire hazard. The second recall includes five additional models—MagGo and Zolo power banks among them - due to battery defects found during quality testing. The issue appears to be tied to a specific battery supplier.
Models potentially affected:
PowerCore 10000 (Model A1263)
Anker Power Bank (Model A1257 and A1647)
Anker MagGo (Model A1652)
Anker Zolo (Model A1681 and A1689)
How to check your unit
Flip your power bank over and look for the model number on the bottom. (Pro tip: the numbers are tiny, so take a photo with your phone and then zoom in on the picture to see them!) Then, head to Anker’s official recall page and enter your serial number to see if your device is impacted. Be careful not to confuse zeros for the letter O.
What to do if your power bank is recalled
If your unit is affected, stop using it immediately. Don’t throw it in the trash—these devices contain lithium-ion batteries and need to be disposed of properly at a hazardous waste facility. Anker provides specific instructions for safe handling and disposal.
Compensation options
If you’re in the U.S., you can choose between a free replacement or an Anker gift card (usable only on their website).
