Before you pay $480 for NFL Sunday Ticket, check these discounts
If you’re getting ready for football season, don’t assume you have to pay full price for NFL Sunday Ticket. Depending on who you are or who your wireless provider is, you could save hundreds of dollars.
The regular standalone price for returning subscribers can reach $480, but there are a few ways to pay much less.
First, you do not need a YouTube TV subscription to get NFL Sunday Ticket. You can buy it as a standalone subscription and access it through the regular YouTube app using YouTube Primetime Channels. If you have YouTube TV, the service is integrated there, too.
The biggest deal is for some Verizon customers. If you’re buying an eligible phone on certain unlimited plans or signing up for qualifying Verizon Home Internet service, you may be able to get NFL Sunday Ticket included at no extra cost. Even if you don’t qualify for the free offer, existing Verizon customers can often purchase Sunday Ticket for $234, which is roughly half the regular standalone price.
College students have an even better option. Eligible students can subscribe for $119 after verifying their status through SheerID. Just keep in mind that the student plan only supports one stream at a time.
Military members, veterans, teachers, first responders and many healthcare workers can also save. After verifying eligibility through ID.me, the price drops to $198. If you want NFL RedZone as well, you can add it for another $42.
If you’ve never subscribed to NFL Sunday Ticket before, new customers can sign up for $240 whether they buy it through YouTube or add it to a YouTube TV subscription. Returning subscribers pay more, with prices starting around $378 through YouTube TV and $480 for the standalone version.
One final thing to know is that NFL Sunday Ticket only includes out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. You’ll still need access to your local channels, plus services that carry Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football and other nationally televised games.
