Airbnb now lets you offer your skills, not just your home
Airbnb is expanding beyond rentals, letting professionals offer services and experiences through its platform. I tried out a wellness retreat led by Devi Brown to see how it works for both hosts and guests.
If you’re a professional with a skill to share, Airbnb wants you. The platform is looking for experienced service providers across a range of categories. Here’s what you can offer:
Chefs: Cook fully customized meals in guests’ homes as a professional chef.
Photography: Provide personalized photo sessions and capture special moments for travelers.
Massage: Offer restorative massages, from Swedish to deep tissue, as a certified therapist.
Spa treatments: Deliver spa experiences like facials, scrubs, and other treatments as a licensed esthetician.
Personal training: Lead private sessions in yoga, HIIT, strength training, or other fitness specialties.
Hair: Style, cut, or blow out hair for clients, on location.
Makeup: Apply makeup for daily looks or special occasions as a pro artist.
Nails: Give manicures and pedicures as a skilled nail specialist.
Prepared meals: Deliver ready-to-eat meals made by a chef, for travelers who want great food without the work.
Catering: Handle full-service catering for parties, including custom menus, décor, and all the setup and cleanup.
If you have experience in any of these fields - and love working with people from around the world - this could be a big new opportunity. Airbnb is accepting applications now for vetted service providers, so if you’re interested, it’s worth checking out.
