Greetings and Happy Friday!
Hope your week is going well and you’ve got some good plans for the weekend!
Let’s get to some of the tech stuff I think you should know about!
But before we do, here’s a self portrait of me in the airport. I shall call it: delayed.
Using AI to Protect Online Daters
We talked to a dating app called Lumen, which is for the 50+ set. There are many dating apps out there, but this is is sort of unique because it’s using artificial intelligence in an effort to protect its users.
Turns out the 50 and 60 plus set are highly coveted by scam artists, especially on dating apps. Lumen combats this by using AI to verify that people are who they say they are.
You have to take a selfie upon sign up, which is then compared to the other profile pics you upload. Then, there are restrictions on how many people you can message and how.

Behind the Scenes at a Video Game Training Facility
You probably heard the story about the 16 year old who won $3 million dollars playing Fornite. It’s tough to discourage kids from playing so many games when that’s happening… but it’s kind of like acting. Yeah, some people make big bucks but many others don’t.
Still, I’m not one for discouraging dreams.
Check out the story I did where I went behind the scenes at company that hires pro-video gamers and trains them to win. They get free lunch, a place to nap, stream their gameplay online and more. The craziest part: sometimes they play up to 12 hours a day.
